A platform for publishing personal study summaries and exam preparation documents

A web application built as a personal platform for collecting and publishing study summaries, exam preparation documents (Midterm/Final), and various notes (Lecture/Lab) created continuously since my first year at university. It was developed as an upgrade from sharing files through Google Drive into a dedicated platform of my own. Its main features include a well-structured document categorization system organized by academic year and course, an in-browser PDF viewer with a download button, a document versioning system, view and like tracking, and dynamic Open Graph (OG) generation for visually appealing metadata when links are shared on social media and other platforms.
The Problem
- Sharing study summary files through Google Drive became increasingly difficult to organize and search as the number of documents kept growing over the years, starting from my first year.
- Users such as friends and junior students could not always preview documents conveniently on some devices, and there was no clear way to notify or show document versions when summaries were edited or updated.
- When sharing Drive links in groups or on social media, the link previews and metadata were not visually appealing, engaging, or descriptive enough.
- There was no tracking system to understand which study summaries attracted the most interest or were the most useful to readers.
The Solution
- Developed a web application with a clear document categorization and filtering system, organized by academic year, course, and document type such as Lecture, Lab, Midterm, and Final.
- Built an in-browser PDF viewer so users could read summaries immediately without downloading, along with a document versioning system to ensure users always have access to the latest updated file.
- Implemented a view counter and like system to measure user engagement and feedback for each document set.
- Enhanced SEO and dynamic Open Graph tags so that each document could display a professional-looking preview image, course title, and relevant details when shared across different platforms.
The Result
- Created a well-organized learning summary platform that is easy to search and provides a better document-reading experience for friends and junior students than general cloud storage services.
- Shared links became more visually appealing, helping attract more users and increasing access to study summaries.
- Gained insight into popularity and user feedback through view and like statistics, which provided motivation and guidance for improving future study summaries.
- Made it possible to manage documents, update content, and maintain file version history in a structured and efficient way.
